Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage in that it uses slower and firmer strokes but works on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Deep tissue involves the use of fingers, knuckles, elbows and forearms using different techniques such as trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. Deep tissue is particularly beneficial for chronic muscular tension and pain, sports injuries and for those affected by limited range of motion.

Swedish Massage

The foundation of most massage therapy, Swedish massage is a relaxing and energising massage working rhythmically, and as deeply or gently as needed.
A full body treatment from head to toe if desired! Benefits of this massage may include: pain reduction, improved sleep, stress relieving, increased range of movement, muscle toning, energy boosting, injury prevention and so much more!

Hot Stone Massage

This massage penetrates heat deep into muscle tissues, melting away stress and tension.  This treatment is incredibly relaxing and warming.

Please note that if needed and with your consent, Swedish and deep tissue strokes are incorporated to work through tension, knots and adhesions.

Aftercare Recommendations

  • Drink plenty of water and/or herbal tea, as massage can be very detoxifying
  • Avoid alcoholic beverages and stimulants i.e. caffeine immediately after treatment and for up to 12 hours if possible
  • Try to relax and ‘take it easy’ to continue the benefits of your treatment
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and listen to your body – you may feel tired
  • Be conscious of your posture – shoulders back and down
  • Stretch gently if advised by your therapist
  • Don’t underestimate the benefits of maintenance massage to help prevent tension, strain and injury
